The Gravekeeper of the Gods

Moriga is the goddess of death, the veil, and passage into the afterlife. A cold and stern goddess, Moriga follows exactly her duty according to what Olthast decreed. She looks after and safeguards the souls of the dead. She is recognized and holds severe power in nearly all religions with the exception of the dwarven pantheon, in which Duermoch is entrusted with the funerary rites of his folk. Moriga and her clergy focus on death rites and the keeping of souls of the deceased according to the following of the laws of death dictated by Olthast. Orcus, the Demon Prince of Undeath, is sometimes rumored to be her son gone mad, but these are widely regarded as apocryphal and heretical by the teachers of the gods’ will. Undeniably though, there is some connection between the two, for the secrets of returning from beyond the grave lie with Moriga, Orcus—and some posit, the Shadowfell.
